Desserts are a part of the holiday season, making cookies with friends and family, gifting dessert boxes. It can be impossible to avoid them during this time of year, and who wants Christmas without cookies? Not me!
This is how the holiday's used to go for me... I would let myself enjoy all the foods and desserts that I deemed "unhealthy" but then go home and guilt-trip myself or try and make up for it by working out or chugging a glass of water. Sound familiar?
I used to let this control me, labeling certain foods as healthy and unhealthy, until I was able to heal my relationship with food. I started to understand that health is different for everyone, and only I can dictate what is best for me. Something that feeds my soul is baking around this time of year. Rather than restricting myself from these precious moments, I choose to make recipes that will not only be kind to my body, but allow me to enjoy the tradition of baking that I love so much.
My hope for you this holiday season is that whether you try out some of these recipes or stick to the ones you make every year, I hope that you allow yourself to be present in the moment, enjoy the sweets, and time with friends and family, because that's what matters most🤍
